This year our lap race has changed venue!

We are excited to announce our new venue and date of  17th December to run this bush run with a difference – a 5k loop course around the trails near St Columba’s.  The new course maps are available as a downloadable PDF map, or as a downloadable GPX download file from our maps section.

The course has a mixture of single track, fire trail, descents and climbs. You can choose from 3 hours or 6 hours. You can be a solo runners, part of a pairs relay or teams relay, and up to four categories are available to suit all runners.

Get a bunch of mates together and come up and make a day of it. Have a run and then sit back, enjoy the company, have a cold drink, eat some food and watch others do the running.

St Columba’s Course Description

Discover the scenic St. Columba’s grounds in Springwood, nestled in the beautiful Blue Mountains, where Running Wild is eager to present the all-new Saints and Sinners lap race!

The event hub and start/finish line are surrounded by historic sandstone buildings dating back to 1909, and the course winds through both hilly fire trails and scenic single tracks.

Starting at the school grounds, the course takes you through the historic buildings before leading to the eastern fire trail. As you leave the fire trail, you’ll encounter some intricate single track with some gentle inclines, and then rejoin the fire trail before reaching Aid Station 1.

After the Aid Station, the path continues on winding single tracks with some potentially fast-paced sections and captivating views of unique rock formations. The trail eventually leads to the Colosseum playing field, where Aid Station 2 awaits.

Further along, a brief section of single track, including a bridge, takes you back to a fire trail, which marks the primary uphill climb of the course. At the top, a right turn guides you to the front sandstone arch entrance of the school. Here, you can savour cheers from friends, family, and teammates before descending down the hill and circling the pond – giving your team the perfect opportunity to see you coming, before you or the next team member heads out for the next lap.

With time frames of 3hrs and 6hrs to choose from. Run as many or as few laps as you want, but most importantly don’t miss the most enjoyable lap event going round in running circles (literally).

We think it sounds perfect!  Will we see you there?
