Starting in the peaceful Lawson, this seemingly quiet mid mountains town is not often thought of for iconic Blue Mountains Running. However situated on the north side of the Highway this course won’t disappoint packing in some hills and visiting Empire Pass, with some stunning waterfalls nearby.
A simple two lap course, runners head out along the track towards Queens Rd, with a decent climb thrown in for good measure on the way out there will be an aid station just before half way of the loop. When you are finished simply turn and retrace your steps, except a right hand turn to head into Echo Bluff and into the stunning Dante’s Glen.
Returning into the start finish line long course runners will do it all again, with the short and long course runners completing a 500m out and back loop at the start of their race to spread the field out.
Don’t let one of the shortest races distance wise in the series fool you, it certainly won’t be the quickest
“Trail Kids are collaborating with Running Wild to put on a 3 race series of trail races for kids! Race 3 will be in conjunction with the Lawson Race. At Lawson, after the grown ups start, Trail Kids are offering a 1km un-timed race for under 10’s and a 3km timed race for 5-14 year olds. Head to the Trail Kids website for all the details and registration”
